What is let go
Nothing is treated carelessly
The hardest part of downsizing is not the lifting. It is deciding what to part with. So we treat those things the way your family would. Items in good condition are donated to local charities, usable goods are passed on, and the rest is recycled responsibly rather than simply dumped.
When you would like one, we will give you a simple summary of where things went, so a lifetime of belongings ends its chapter with dignity, and you never have to wonder.
Anything your family chooses not to keep does not go to waste. We donate gently used furniture and household items to Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region's ReStore, where they help fund local homebuilding. One less thing to carry, and a little good left behind.

What does it cost, and what drives the price?
Most transitions land between roughly $1,200 and $4,000, depending on how much we handle for you. The biggest factors are the size of the home, how much sorting and packing is involved, and whether you add the care day, a deep clean, or junk and estate clear-out. Your free transition plan gives you a clear, written quote up front, with no hourly meter and no surprises.
What if my parent is resistant to moving?
That is one of the most common things we hear, and it is exactly why our care day is led by our Care Director, who has years of senior-care experience. The day is unhurried and led at your parent's pace, sorting belongings together, telling the stories, and making decisions with patience rather than pressure. We are there to make a hard moment gentler, not to rush anyone.
How long does the whole thing take?
For most homes the active work happens over about two days, a care and sorting day and then the move itself, with a no-obligation consultation beforehand and the clean and settle-in afterward. We build the timeline around your dates, including the closing date if the home is being sold.
What happens to the things my parent lets go of?
